Kevin Woodhurst
Pool Industry Veteran Kevin Woodhurst is the Vice President of Operations and the General Manager of Dolphin Pools and Spas which has been a successful custom pool builder, pool remodeling contractor, and service & repair company since 1984.
Kevin is an Award Winning Swimming Pool Designer, Builder and Company Executive who has worked at nearly every level within the swimming pool industry and is one of the most accredited pool professionals in the world. He is a 15 year veteran of the swimming pool industry, and a 30 year veteran of general construction and technical maintenance. His columns and editorials can be seen on the interent, newspapers and in print regularly.
Kevin has previously owned or managed several very progressive and successful swimming pool construction, remodeling and repair companies, He came to Dolphin Pools and Spas as a result of selling his own Pool company (Precision Pools and Spas) in 2006/2007 to a competing national pool builder. He has designed, built, or managed the construction of nearly 4000 projects in his career. His projects include many negative or vanishing edged, perimeter overflow, and a multitude of highly complex and custom projects. His projects have been featured in industry trade publications many times.
Kevin has promoted "Green" pools and building practices for over 15 years and his focus has been low maintenance, low waste, and minimal chemical use pools long before it became vogue. He continues to provide and promote these practices and other "Green" building techniques even more so today.
Kevin has maintained and active role within the pool industry associations both locally and nationally, and understands the importance of continuing his knowledge and influence within the pool industry. Therefore he has attended hundreds of hours of education both as a student and instructor on various topics such as: advanced pool design and construction,advanced hydraulics, pool renovations, service, repair, and safety and standards writing. He is currently the Lead Instructor for the Pool Genius Academies: Pool Technology courses which includes instruction and training on swimming pool construction and renovations.

Q: What is the ECO-smart concept all about?
ECO-smart is designed to save resources across the board and build value for customers. My market is in the desert southwest were the electric grid is increasingly taxed and our water supply is diminishing rapidly. These items along with other environmental concerns are at the forefront of ECO-smart.
It is a holistic system. It's not just about installing a variable-speed pump, adding an in-floor cleaning and circulation system or bolting on something like a saltwater system. There is more to it than that. We build ROI into every pool.
Our ECO-smart pools are designed to save energy, use less chemicals, waste very little water, and be environmentally responsible. They are designed with automation and features that enhance ownership rather than detract from it. Our construction standards and specifications go beyond the industry minimum. We use materials that have proven to last longer like Pebble Tec products, we utilize commercial-grade materials when feasible, we use more steel and our plumbing systems are designed to take advantage of our equipment sets. And I use an A & A ECOSKIM on every pool — in my opinion no pool should be built with out this amazing and efficient skimmer.
